About Heartstones

Grief is love with no place to go.
Heartstones exists to give that love somewhere to rest.

Quietly meaningful jewellery, made to hold what matters.

Heartstones creates bespoke heirloom jewellery for those who wish to carry love, memory, and connection — thoughtfully, respectfully, and without excess.

At its heart is a simple understanding:

Grief does not disappear with time.
Instead, it becomes something we learn to carry.

Sometimes what people need most is not for grief to disappear, but for love to have somewhere to go.

Each Heartstone is created to give that love a place to rest — held safely within jewellery designed to be worn, lived in, and passed through generations.

Every piece is made individually, forming a Heartstone that holds your chosen personal elements within it. These elements become part of the stone itself, giving each piece its quiet meaning.

A Considered Philosophy

At Heartstones, meaning is never rushed.

Jewellery that carries personal elements deserves the same level of thought, structure, and longevity as any fine heirloom. Every decision — from materials to methods — is guided by a single question:

Will this protect what matters, long after it leaves our hands?

Nothing is chosen for convenience. Only proven materials and carefully developed techniques are used, selected for their strength, clarity, and ability to endure everyday life.

Balance, structure, and longevity are considered at every stage, because what is placed within each Heartstone is irreplaceable.

This is jewellery designed to endure — emotionally and physically.

The Maker

Heartstones was founded by Starr, a jeweller with years of experience creating deeply personal jewellery for clients around the world.

This work did not begin as a business.

It began with loss.

Starr’s daughter Emily passed away in 2016. In the years that followed, the search for a way to hold onto something tangible — something that could carry love forward — quietly shaped the path that became this work.

Emily remains the heart behind Heartstones.

Her presence is not shared for sympathy, but as the simple truth of why this work exists: a belief that love does not disappear when someone is gone, and that meaningful objects can help us carry that love with us.

Before Heartstones, Starr built and ran an international memorial jewellery practice, working with families across the world to create pieces of remembrance.

Over time, the work evolved.

Heartstones was created as a deliberate step toward a more considered way of working — fewer commissions, deeper attention to each piece, and complete control over materials and methods.

Rather than growing larger, Heartstones was designed to grow deeper.

Materials & Integrity

Heartstones jewellery is created using precious metals, including sterling silver and solid gold, alongside your chosen personal elements.

Every material and process used has been carefully researched, tested, and refined through years of hands-on experience. Techniques are chosen specifically for their stability, clarity, and long-term durability — ensuring the personal elements they protect remain secure.

Personal elements are preserved using jewellery-grade processes developed to prioritise strength, balance, and longevity.

Because what is held within each Heartstone cannot be replaced.

All eligible Heartstones jewellery is hallmarked in accordance with UK regulations. This hallmark verifies metal content and authenticity while linking the piece directly to Heartstones — providing reassurance, traceability, and protection should a piece ever need identification in the future.

Transparency matters.
Integrity matters.

Every Heartstone carries a responsibility — to the materials, to the story it holds, and to the person who wears it.

A Personal Process

Commissioning jewellery that holds personal meaning can be emotional.

At Heartstones the process is designed to feel calm, supportive, and unhurried.

From the first enquiry to the finished piece, communication is handled personally and with care. Clients are never reduced to an order number — every commission is treated with the attention and respect it deserves.

Each Heartstone is created to be worn, lived in, and eventually passed on — jewellery that becomes part of your life while quietly holding what matters most.
