How it works

Commissioning jewellery that holds personal meaning can feel like a significant step. At Heartstones, the process is designed to feel clear, supportive, and unhurried — from first enquiry to the finished heirloom piece.

Each stage is handled with care so you can move forward at a pace that feels comfortable.

1. Choose your piece

Begin by selecting a design from the collection or enquiring about a bespoke heirloom or memorial commission.

If you are unsure which design feels right, you are always welcome to make contact before placing an order. Guidance can be offered without any expectation to proceed.

Each Heartstone is created individually, with careful attention given to both form and meaning.

2. Confirm your commission

Once your commission or enquiry is confirmed, you will receive clear next steps along with expected timeframes and guidance specific to your piece.

Nothing is rushed, and you will never be asked to send personal elements before you feel ready.

3. Send your personal elements

For UK clients, a postal kit will be provided where required. This includes secure packaging, a prepaid return envelope, and a ring sizer if applicable.

For international clients, clear instructions will be provided to help you send your personal elements safely.

Only a very small amount is needed. Any unused personal elements are carefully returned alongside your finished jewellery.

4. Your Heartstone is created

Your Heartstone is formed by hand using precious metals and jewellery-grade processes chosen for their strength, clarity, and long-term stability.

Personal elements are handled individually and are never mixed or shared. Each piece is created with patience, precision, and intention.

5. Hallmarking and finishing

All eligible Heartstones jewellery is hallmarked in accordance with UK regulations, providing verified assurance of precious metal content, authenticity, and traceability.

Your piece is then carefully finished, inspected, and prepared for delivery.

6. Delivery

Once complete, your Heartstone is securely packaged and sent to you.

You will be notified when your jewellery is ready to return home.

A considered process

Heartstones was created to work at a slower, more intentional pace.

By accepting fewer commissions, each piece is given the time and attention it deserves — both for the craft itself and for the personal elements entrusted to it.

If you have questions at any stage, you are always welcome to make contact. There is never any expectation to proceed before you feel ready.
